Anupaya
A glimpse into a personal journey of self-inquiry and exploration. Expect to be taken on a transformative voyage of self-realization, where the boundaries between past, present, and future blur, revealing the eternal presence within.
I am the divine manifestation, manifesting itself.
A fleeting thought, a tragic incident, and a hopeless satire—a trifecta of experiences that set the wheels of my journey into motion.
In the midst of life's tumultuous currents, I stumbled upon a book that would alter the course of my understanding: Journey of Souls by Dr. Michael Newton. Within its pages, I made an intriguing discovery that all souls have names.
So, in the quiet sanctum of meditation, I posed the question to my soul: "What is your name?" And the whispered response came forth—Anupaya.
I thought- “what a peculiar name; must be morsels of my whimsical imagination”.
As years passed, I continued on my quest for inner peace. I looked everywhere that ushered me. So desperately deep was my longing to understand myself that I explored countless cultures, books, beliefs, people and places.
In doing so, not once I looked within and when all else failed, I heard the usher from myself. And in my sanctuary of silence, I found the well of wisdom I already had. The true self- unharmed, untethered, unmoved watching and waiting to be addressed. And in that discovery, I felt such deep liberating peace, that words fail to capture or explain the depth of this emotion. All I needed was simply to exist. Just Be.
And then, like a gentle breeze on a balmy evening, I felt a strange pull toward the teachings of Kashmir Shaivism. Within the pages of a sacred text, I stumbled upon a word that resonated with the very essence of my being: Anupaya—the Pathless Path.
The wisdom of anupaya, is the ultimate enlightment:
‘In anupaya, the aspirant has only to observe that nothing is to be done. Be as you are. If you are talking, go on talking. If you are sitting, go on sitting. Do not do anything, only reside in your being. This is the nature of anupaya.’
As I read those words, I witnessed myself zooming out, replaying back to the moment I queried my soul for its name. Like waves traversing through space and time, I travelled to impart the very answer from its future. I am my soul answering itself, bestowing a small piece of the puzzle of my own existence. Utterly gratifying was the realization of this boundless self.
I AM eternally present
At all times; in all places
Just address me with your awareness
And I will answer with endless peace
