New Dawn
Victory is celebrated in the light, but it is won in the darkness.
Anger and Light
A new dawn.
After a perilous suffocation
And deathful darkness,
A new Sun rises.
Her demons demented,
Her radiance cemented.
She illuminates even brighter,
With rays full of might,
Like the fierce chests of the undefeated wolf pride.

The story I'm about to share came from a Mayan grandmother who shared it with me. It resonates deeply because it offers a powerful lesson.
It is called "The Two Wolves" story, a parable in Native American tradition passed down through generations, which can inspire you to shift your mindset and embrace life with a more positive perspective. Here’s the story of the Two Wolves and how it can guide you to live more intentionally.
What Is the Two Wolves Story?
The Two Wolves story is an ancient tale, embedded in Native American tradition for generations. Though its exact origin is unclear, many historians attribute it to the Cherokee or Lenape people.
The story features a conversation between a grandfather and his grandson. The dialogue goes as follows:
"I have a fight going on inside me," said the old man. "It’s between two wolves. One is evil—he embodies anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego."
The grandfather looked at his grandson and continued, "The other wolf is good—he represents joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. Both wolves are fighting to the death. And this battle is happening inside you, and every other person too."
The grandson pondered this for a moment and then asked, "Which wolf will win?"
The grandfather replied simply, "The one you feed."
This story serves as a powerful reminder of the internal battles we all face. No matter who you are or what life you lead, you will encounter moments when two opposing emotions clash within you. Whether it’s a struggle between anger and peace or resentment and compassion, it’s essential to recognize these conflicting feelings and choose to nourish the values and emotions that align with who you want to be.
